Wreck Your Heart got a STARRED REVIEW from Publishers Weekly! I’m thrilled, of course, but what I love the most is that I love this book, but I wrote it kind of wondering… would anyone else love it? It’s the only thing you can do, write the book you want to exist. But that doesn’t mean you’ll be rewarded with sales or accolades, does it?

I’m in the final stages of writing my next book and the going is getting tough. I have to keep reminding myself that all I’m doing is trying to entertain myself. Which doesn’t seem like a lofty goal enough, sometimes. But, as I told a writer friend once who was having the same doubts, that our little stories weren’t saving lives, it’s okay if my stories only save myself. That’s not nothing. And, maybe, they will reach someone who needs them, too.

There’s a lot going on! I’m just going to decorate this site with as many pretty red, six-point Chicago stars as I am given and try to find some joy. You too?
