The Black Hour won the Anthony Award for Best First Novel this weekend at Bouchercon in Raleigh, North Carolina!

One exclamation point doesn’t do it!!!

!!!

Thank you thank you to everyone there and to Sharon Bowers, my agent, and Seventh Street Books/Prometheus/Peguin&Random House for everything they did to make this girl’s dream come true.

My stammer consisted of admitting that the only preparation I had done was to write my husband’s name down in case I forgot it. I didn’t. But I was pretty glad the trophy came in the form of a bowl because I was feeling mighty pukey.

It’s gorgeous. I’m so grateful to everyone who read the book and passed it along or recommended it. Thank you, all.
