I guess “Best Book Ever” is already taken?

By December 15, 2010The Day I Died, Writing

OK, it’s go time, people.

I have one newly slimmed-down manuscript in need of a new title.

And I have no idea what to call it.

Old title? Let’s not dwell in the past. That title made sense for the short story from which the novel grew, but not for this final product.

And yet—

What’s the alternative?

I’m spelunking into the draft now and I’m not coming out without a better title.

Wish me luck.

  • Am trying to come up with titles related to handwriting analysis. It's hard! Best I've managed so far: – Don't Read Me – Hidden on the Page – In the Forest of Words – The Lines of Their Hands – Secret Messages – Secret Language – Talking with Their Hands – This is What I Can Tell By Looking – What You Can Tell By LookingHm. Titles hard.

Titles ARE hard. Jincy Willett said on Facebook that she liked it, but I haven't struck on the magical set of words yet. Thanks for the ideas. One of them might get me going!

Liked naming her books, is what I meant to say.

Here are my suggestions for new titles. They don't all focus on handwriting necessarily. I tried to think about the themes of the book and go from there. If you're set on having a title that makes use of the handwriting element, maybe go back and look at your research. Any odd, technical words related to handwriting analysis that might also encapsulate and sum up your book? Just a thought. If nothing else, maybe these will spark other ideas. – The Parks Analysis- A Long Way Home- On The Run- Lost and Found- The Castaways of Parks County- A Long Time Gone- Finding Leah- Script and Scribe- Trace Evidence – But Now I Am Found
